We should all have easy access to our cash. With banks closing their branches across Broxbourne, we need banking hubs in our town centres. We bailed out the banks in the financial crisis, it's now time for them to do their bit for us.
When I was the Leader of Broxbourne Council, I worked to secure and retain banking services in Waltham Cross, Hoddesdon & Cheshunt. I was pleased that local residents can continue to access Barclays Bank as a result of the Council's work to open a Barclays Local service at The Spotlight.
LINK, the body responsible for assessing a community’s access to cash, can recommend a banking hub or a similar scheme for a particular area. We are calling for LINK to make this recommendation and I've started a petition to achieve this. You can join the campaign by signing below:
