At a Special General Meeting on Sunday 17th July 2023 Cllr Lewis Cocking was selected as the Broxbourne Parliamentary Conservative Candidate to fight the next General Election. This follows Sir Charles walker’s decision last year to retire at the next Election.
Lewis was selected following a vigorous process which involved just under 100 Candidates and many talented and outstanding individuals from all walks of life.
He was unanimously adopted at the at the end of the meeting.
Chairman of Broxbourne Parliamentary Association, Paul Mason, said, “ Lewis will make an excellent Parliamentary Candidate and great a Member of Parliament, if elected. Broxbourne has a strong record in sending outstanding Conservative Constituency MP’s to Parliament. I am sure Lewis will maintain that tradition!”
Lewis said, I am honoured to be selected in the place where I grew up and am proud to call my home. It would be a huge privilege to be Broxbourne’s Member of Parliament. For me the campaign starts now and I will work tirelessly between now and the last vote being cast at the next General Election. I intend to knock on every door in the Constituency and speak to as many Constituents as I can!”
